The Chalong Pier

   Discovering the Chalong Pier

Chalong Pier is located southeast of Phuket Island on the border with Rawai.
This pier is more and more frequented: sailboats are not the most numerous but motorboats for offshore fishing trips, diving trips, canoe trips and finally many speedboats that take you to the islands a little further away in a short time.
The recent dock (700 metres long) allows the various boats to moor easily without worrying about tidal heights.

A shuttle service will drop you off at the end of the car.

As for the Speed-Boats, they are moored by the beach, access is directly from the beach.
The port of Chalong is the main starting point to the islands in Phang Nga Bay but also Koh Phi Phi Phi, Koh Raja, etc...

However, this has nothing to do with the port of Phuket where the large ferries to Phi Phi or Krabi are located.

This concrete pontoon has been in existence for over ten years...
Before that, it was made of wood, but with the increase in tourist traffic in recent years, this construction has proved essential.
The marina at the end of the pontoon was completed a short time ago (about 3 to 4 years).

In the background, in the heights, we can see "Big Buddha",
huge monument made entirely of marble and which has a height of more than 40 meters.
Mais revenons sur le plancher des vaches...
et retrouvons les petits touristes venus pour passer la journée
dans l'un des nombreux programmes proposés au départ du port.
The dock may seem very long to walk under a blazing sun.....

...but the shuttles are there to drop off tourists near the boat
who's going to take them for a walk during the day
As for speed boats, they are stormed from the beach itself.
It is time to leave for the islands of Koh Phi Phi Phi, Koh Racha, Phang Nga Bay,
James Bond Island, Koh Panyee, and many other islands...
